EJ22 automatic inhibitor switches ?

i have a ej22 fitted to a manx.
it came from an automatic.
i have fitted the complete wiring loom from the subaru including the dash and both fuse boxes.the car is now in a manual, so there are no inhibitor switches anmore.

how should the inhibitor switches be hooked up. ( bypassed ) at the ecu

1 : do i make it so the ecu thinks it always in neutral .( would this effect the ecu as it will be getting a speed signal from the dash however the ecu will be expecting the car to be in drive ) will this cause errors ?

2 : or do i make it so every time the clutch is in its in neutral and when i let the clutch out its in drive ? so the ecu sees it in drive when there are speed signals from the speed sensor
( will this effect the idle valve ? does the ecu increase the revs when in drive ?)

any help will be greatly appreciated

my ej25 is the same. it came out of an auto too. just hook the inhibitor wires together so it thinks it's in drive all the time. that's how mine is setup. otherwise you won't be able to start it without the clutch in.

And we don't particularly like it. I hate having to start my wife's Toyota with a dry thrust bearing carrying load.

ive since started the engine and man its sweet ,
i have the starter circut running without a cut out on it (relay cut out )
so the inhibitors arnt inhibiting basiclly.
at the moment i dont have any of the inhibitor switches hooked up and so far i havnt had any
errors coming through regarding inhibitor switches through the engine check light.
and its starting up beautifully and idling perfect.

AIR CONDITIONING IS FOR SOOKS!!!
:P
Well not really, That will be next on my list. Knowing my luck, I'll get it finished for the end of Summer just like I had the heater finished at the end of winter. What dash unit are you using Mick?
