6 rib 2ltrbox replacing 1600 box

hey guys, im new here and have a question!

i have a retired off road race buggy that runs a 1600 kombi box and a datsun 1600 engine. anyway, my problem is this, the engine has warped the head and need to relace the engine as my mechanic says its not worth fixing.

have found a kombi at the wreckers which is complete with 2ltr box and datsun l20 motor.

am looking to replace my old set up with the gear out of the kombi.

will my old drive cvs and drive shafts work with the 1600 stub axles and 2 ltr box? or will i need to put the 2ltr stub axles in too? or will i need to get custom cvs and shafts to suit the combo?

any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Welcome,
You 1600 Cv joints are the same as the 2 ltr ones, they will fit fine, the only thing that will differ is the 2 ltr box is slightly longer, you may need to shorten the gear shift rod by and 1 inch, depending on how the box mounts in your buggy.
Good luck
