does anyone run 14 inch wheels on their road car?

I have a set of 14 inch chromed wheels I bought years ago
but I'd rather run 16 inch wheels than 14s...

Many years ago people used to run 13 and 14 inch wheels on their beetles
as it made the 1200 and 1300cc beetles accelerate much faster
but revs the engine out on the highway..

I use 14 x 6 rims on the front of my buggy because the front doesn't have too much clearance. I found some good off road tyres to fit. They are Wrangler TG tyres 185 R 14. They have a chunky mud tread pattern and cost $120 ea.

Very hard to find any 4wd tyres for 14", the smallest they really go is 15" ...from the best of my knowledge anyway

Same for road cars - all the good rubber starts at 195/50/15 and 205/60/15

i've got 14" rims I use for my front rally tyres. But that's all, you really need 15"rims to get the best out of it offroad and such.

The only reason 14" rims are around is because yearsago that was the only size tyre that was around and could be used for better handeling

Most cars are now using 15" or larger as there is a better range of tyres nowdays

You just need to try a few more tyre places - Bridgestone do duellers in 14", and there are several other companies that make them too.

They just arent near as common as 15" and larger, but that doesnt mean they dont exist. I think some of the Suzzuki Sierra type mini 4WD's use them.
