http://www.geocities.com/kafergrup/volks84crash.jpg

a reminder to drive safely when on the road to valla. Gonna be a long trip for some peoples, remember to get a good night sleep, and have a few breaks on the way, no need to rush.

and of course.... have fun!

I hope that was a Left hand drive 1302S, as there wasn't much hope for a Right hand drive driver..

Wouldn't have been too good for the Left hand drive driver either...

How You go sideways into a power pole at high speed
must mean You are NOT driving normally..

although a local young girl rolled and totally wrecked Her 1302S locally a couple of years ago..
seems a tie rod end may have fell out...
meaning the tie rod end was worn out...
so, it wasn't the actual driving which got Her into trouble.
it was lack of maintenance...

Yes Chris,
its a Long way to Valla/Nambucca Heads for virtually most people..
Queensland - Victoria - Sydney - Southern and Northern NSW and inland NSW. South Australia..

Lee

This 1303S just hit the curb/gutter turning a corner.. at low speed. Was a nice looking Beetle before this.

ouch :(... the road in the first one... looks like a big puddle... speed+wet roads.. askin for trouble

Pity bout that red one... thought the rear is probably still salvagable. Maybe if it was torsionbar, it would have bounced over the kerb... stupid struts... Hope it wasn't urs mate. Cause it is a pity!

Chris,
It was a fellow in the UK who had spent thousands of hours on it...
and took hundreds of pics...
then this....
The windscreen popped out as the body was twisted
and the door won't shut...
strut was also ripped out...
He had a heavy USA type front bumper with rubber over riders
which didn't really help any....

I agree Chris, a Non Super beetle with torsion bar front end would have just mounted the gutter...

having the front suspension mounted to the body isn't good... IMHO...

funny the 1975 Beetle was a 1303 Super Beetle
but the 1976 Beetle was torsion bar front end and flat windscreen..
Volkswagenwerk was noted for only changing things that needed changing.......??

Lee
