Type Three Bonnet Seal Orientation

Call me crazy, but I cannot get that thing in the right place so that the lid can shut.

Could someone please post a diagram, or even just a photo of your one.

Cheers

Nick

This way if the pic helps. The radiused side fits down into the space between the guard and quater pannel and the flatter side is to the top with the seal lip on the guard side.

does the thin part of the seal go at the back (by the windscreen) or the front?

I thought that the seal has the same cross section right around. Is yours a different section in part of it? Early and late models may have been different but now have only early one to check. I'll have a look at the one on mine tomorrow as I have put it to bed for a rest after the Valla trip. Maybe I should do the same after last night on Guinness, red wine and a bottle of "Dr Jurd's Jungle Juice"!

Maybe someone with a late model has the answer on any differences on seal.
