has anyone reco'd a fuel tank.......
hey all im just wondering if anyone has recod their fuel tank themself i know u can get the por 15 kit which i was gunna have a stab at but i wanted
to know if it works. is there anyplaces in sydney that reco fuel tanks (u know incase i f@#k up  ) also what size is a tank out of a 68 1500 beetle as to a L bug one. you all know how it is all the info is apreciated

i used half the POR15 kit for my oval tank. worked great and much cheaper than paying for someone else to do it...
...and Robert's ya father's brother...

yea i mean reco as in recondition like make it new or whatever it is they do right.oval TOFU so the por 15 kit works good is it expensive if u dont

abhout $110. that's only for the inside. You really only need half of it, so convince a friend that they need theirs done too so you can split the
cost! I'd blast the outside and POR that too (not with the tank sealer obviously)
...and Robert's ya father's brother...

Anyone have any advice on how to deal with a tank which is rusty on the inside?
I finally tracked down an EFI type 3 tank, purchased unseen only to find the careless person I bought it off left it in the rain to fill up with
water.
I am thinking of washing it with acid or something similar. Being for EFI, it needs to be cleeeeen.

You can also buy the cleaner from Por15 if I remember correctly, not sure though.

I did the same, although I remember the kit being $45 dollars not $110. Did a great job. It was recommended to me by a mate who makes custom tanks for
bikes. The hardest job is getting the tank dry after rinsing the cleaners out with water. I found a hairdryer best for this.

your better off cutting the rust out and patching with new steel.
Ive done this to a few tanks before and no problems make sure you givet he tank a good wash out with water first.
