Turbo54's What is this Quiz!

Hi All,
Got the car home without a hitch on the weekend. It hadn't seen sunlight in years and finally got a clean. It came up really well but not sure what I am going to do yet about the finish. I really ant to stick to my plan. Just thought I would post a couple more pics. What I am really pleased about is all the parts that came with it. It came with about 3 of everything. It is also a July 55 with all the 54 bits like hearts and clunkers. It will do.

http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f60/turbo54/IMG_0880.jpg

Over the next few days I will be posting some pics and if people could think to where they might of came from or what they are.

The first is the radio. Is it tube? Hard to restore? Anyone had a spare knob that looks like the one on there?

http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f60/turbo54/IMG_0887.jpg

Second is the horn. WTF is it? It has a rusty badge on it that has worn down to powder.

http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f60/turbo54/IMG_0885.jpg

http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f60/turbo54/IMG_0884.jpg

Third is this guage. Oil – Volt – Fuel. What is this? Where does it go? In the speaker grill. It is smiths. Is this even out of a beetle? If it goes in the speaker grille does anyone have one?

Thats it for today. T54

Gauge goes here, this is a '57 oval (gauges were fitted as accessory by dealer when bought)

That smith's guage looks to be holden or ford or something. how big is it? looks too big to my eyes to go in a beetle. The horn looks like the factory job I used to have on my 67. Just rusty.

BTW, the oval looks great, just put it together and drive it dude!

The gauge is exactly the same as in my photo above (sorry about the flash reflection), fitted by dealer.

With the benefit of hindsight it looks like you're heaps better off with this one than that other shell anyway. Sure it was straight but needed a sh!tload of work. This one looks real nice, I need to make it down there for a look.

The thing about that gauge the way I see it is you would need to put a sender in your tank which could look pretty average depending on what works with it. Do you really need a fuel gauge anyway, with that motor you're building all you will need to know is to stop for a refill every 100kms :spin: IMO sell the smiths gauge to a mini owner and put in an autometer or VDO if you need one.
