Nice dude. I am so envious that you made it to the strip before I did! Suppose it helps having one in your home town...

Cheers dude,

did i read that it ran 13.09 somewhere?

still fairly impressive but i would have thought it would run quicker with the one piece front end, power .etc

You know what thought, thought !
That is an excellent effort. The MPH is the true indication of power and weight.
This car would not be light. Remember it has a Porsche 5 speed and WRX engine.
It gives everyone a little more insight into what it takes to run fast.
Best thing about a boosted engine is that the potential power is unlimited
...but take your time and dont get greedy!

The car weighs 940kg without the upholstery and passenger seat so I'd guess atleast 950kg when I raced it.
The one piece front end probably weighs more than a stock beetle frontend given the thickness of fibreglass and the additional framework I added for street durability. 130kg heavier than standard isn't thant much considering what's been added....

I would have thought a little lower time given a similar engine setup in a rex would do a mid to high 13's and weighs 1350kg - or ther abouts.

All in time, as you say. Can't be a legend overnight hey.....

Nice work Reub...I am stinging to get down the drags, everytime I plan to, I either get called up for a job, or some mechanical gremlin gets me. At the moment its a slipping clutch, although i am doing 500km a week in it and neglecting her a bit.

What ecu have you got and what are the caracteristics of the miss...on boost only, idle etc. I was only thinking of calling you re some fabrication ideas I have, so tomorrow I'll try.

Hey Matt.

I'm running a wolf 3d.
The miss only occurs when running 18lb boost and only starts missing when in third gear and hit 5000 rpm, it then pretty well breaks down when changed into 4th.
Ian has a few ideas but we're yet to hook up via phone to discuss further.
A big car show up here has been priority of late, hence the interior being completed...I'll eventually sort it out, I hope.....
