If only I had the money for an EJ22 motor pete. For now its just a standard 1800. Which is fine by me and my bank balance.

Nothing a side draft and a little turbo couldn't fix. ;)

White/cream on top and bubblegum green on the bottom. same colour as my old bug. I will try to find a pick so you can get an idea of the colour. I had the paint left over, will four litres of green be enough for the bottom part?

Cheap turbo off an SR20 or similar. Jap SU style carbie? Be worth asking Wayne Penrose. He's got a type 4 draw setup on the mango cabrio. The only thing he mentioned as an issue was heat build up. And of course you'd have to be sensible with boost and think about some water injection or similar, maybe even an extra oil cooler?

Here's a pic of the setup on the mango...

My bentley manual tells me the factory comp ratio is a turbo friendly 7.3:1, but I as I said the trick is to be sensible with the boost. Obviously, you need a turbo that is NOT water cooled, and that has a bearing seal so the oil can't be thinned by the fuel and sucked out of the bearing. Amazeer has had a few turbo type 4s. Be worth talking to him as well.

Hope this gets you thinking. ;)

colour update

Well I decided to go something crazy with the paint so I went hammertone Blue. I know that the car is not going to be a concourse winner, I just want something that will handle the trip to sites I go to visit for uni (geology/palaeontology student). So it doesn't need to be perfect, just functional. The guy in the pic is my mate who works for Bomac altrack and did the painting.
