Great video clips , but if a beetle is deemed not street registable in NSW because the engine capacity doesn't match the capacity on the rego papers , what chance would this guy have of being street legal with all that plumbing hanging out the back ?
Could only be legal in America !!

You are absolutely right, here it DOES NOT MATTER what the manufacturer put in it,you can put about anything in any car and drive it on the street( a local guy had a 440 chrysler in a toyota car on the street, easn't anything I would drive, but he did). What N.C. checks for is SAFETY,and on newer cars Emissions compliance.Cars older than 20 years are exempt from emissions inspection here. Some race car classes have a minimum weight, but most bracket classes do not, hence fast E/T.Take DAVE BUTLER's engine and put it in a 1170 lb car and see the E/T!!!! Would be scarey fast, blistering!!!! Mike

Wayne,
This is exactly what I have been saying all along, the rest of the world is doing it and not only in the VW world.
Your car is very very streetable and safety is not the issue.
The people who knock your car have never built a fast car or they want it! Lets all play by the world rules and acheive some respecable results for Australia not follow the rules of a few people/clubs and restrict ourselves for no reason.

I hope I have not offended any one, it is not my intention I just like seeing fast VW's in this country!
