New here!

Hi folks!

When I see all the nice picts of water & aircooled, I'm getting very jealous.

Here in France watercooled veedubers are not welcome in most of aircooled show :(

Few narrow-minded people think that New Beetle owners only bought their car to show they have money... But we're all VW fans, and a lot of people in my forum use their NB as a dailly drive and also own one or two aircooled VW... So things are slowly changing.

We plan to organize a comon meeting next year...

Anyway we still have a lot of fun on our own...

CU,

Btw, here are few picts of my New Beetle, a '00 TDI, with no mods but the "Porsche" Cup 1 17" wheels...

New Here Too!

Hi guys, I thought that since Loic bit the bullet I might as well introduce myself as well. I drive a '73 superbug', which most of the people I know want me to get rid of. They all think I was crazy to reco the engine when it went kapputt just before christmas! They just don't get it...
I will have some pics of Lexi for y'all in about a week, but be warned, it is not the prettiest thing on the block...YET!:P

Welcome Loic and Dakgrrl, love the new beetle.
Dont worry Dakgrrl , mine is not that great either , they still get under your skin, they are a great hobby.
Anyway , a VW should have Character.
Customise it to suit you, and be happy.

Welcome Loic! :)

Good to see a newbeetle.org'er make the trip over :)

Those Porsche wheels look great! I have the 16" Raves like the other NB has, and it's good to see the difference. :)

Hey there guys.

Welcome aboard loic and dakgrrl. i asure you that this is a great place to learn a thing or two as everyone on here is willing to help out where they can. In the short time that i have been on here i have learnt heaps. And i agree with you dakgrrl i think that steves car is sweet. I am trying to go for a similar look minus the trick motor and all the other great stuff that he has.

(Loic is pointing out the six or so of KOM123's Bug in and National images I re-posted to newbeetle.org to get people to check out all the Bug In and National image threads here. We've had a few international visitors, about a 100 so far :)

Loic,

yep, we're a lot more open minded over here, particularly on the war issue.

Although I think you're New Beetle owner #4 on this board :) (Me, Ben, Anthony, you, ???) Not a bad ratio for nearly a thousand members :) Seriously, there's a lot of aircooled's here, but sooner or later, they'll have to succumb to plumbing. :) (joking, guys (and girls!)

It's interesting, isn't it, this apparent animosity between 'water cooled' and 'air cooled' VW owners. I've never understood it.

Surely we're ALL Volkswagen enthusiasts first?? Who cares whether they're are air or water? They're BOTH great! We have a couple of each in our family.

You'll always get people who prefer air over water (and vice versa), but ultimately they're BOTH VWs and we should love both kinds.
