funny thing happened to me today...
okay...this is a place u can put those funny and quirky stories about things that happened to u when ur in ur dub...even when ur not really..
only because...ppl keep coming up and saying the funniest things to me in my dub..but todays, more than any other, made me laugh!
so here goes..
My daughter popped into the local shop, to grab some stuff for her sore throat. Sicne AJ was asleep...i had to stay in the car.
Whilst there..a bloke walks over and says "nice to see u've got a real vw beetle. One with writing on!.
I luagh, mostly because Edith is looking tidier than she did ages before.
Anyway...he goes on to tell me he used to own vw's...and in factowned just over 10 in hsi time. But not all at once.
I said ah..ok.
Then his next comment had me laughing.
He said "yeah, but as u can see, i've had to trade down. My beetle coulnt tow a van!"
His car was a brand new top of the line landcruiser.
:P
I guess when u love dubs...nothing else compares!
dubless.
And who the helled parked the Mitsubishi "Prancer" under my
house???

Why not dump a Beetle shell on the Landcrusher chassis?

put some bloody hard KONE shocks on, that way you would just crash through bumps... just like a landcrusiercruiser does.
most of the comments I (used to) get are revolting. Long monologues how they'd fit 13 inch torana wheels and SU carbies and.... :puke

tehe, had some fun on the road today too. got to cruise in my type 3 wagon next to a fastback, then a Lambo Espada, a Meserati, a new Omega
commonbore. and to top it all off, i was sitting in the right hand lane on the tramtracks on glenferrie road waiting to turn right into High St in
Peak hour in the rain and the old girl decided to take a nap. engine turned off, all electrics went dead (headlights, radio, wipers, emergency
lights, warning lights all gone), tried the key and got nothing. stuck my head under the back seat to see if anything funky was happening with the
battery, all looked good so tried the key again and everything worked as it should. WTF!? ah well, the wonders of vdubs.

better Torana wheels than taillights....:puke
A fella I used to work with bought an oval window beetle in the early 70s for $80 and drove it Broken Hill. On the way he rolled. Upon arriving he
sold it on for $100. He was stoked.
He drives a landcruiser now. :o
Another guy I know well had an oval for his first car. Was his dads before him. They used to borrow it off his dad and go bush bashing. :P
