I vote the greens as well. I don't want them in power, I just want them to have the balance of power in the senate and house of reps. Thats when you stick it to the man, you make him beg for your vote.

They ought to have their pay docked... not jacked up! :duh

If your average hard working schmuck survives comfortably on 50 something thousand a year, what gives these shiny-asses the right to a rediculously over-inflated 3 figurte salary for doing to all effects bugger all!? :cussing:

And as for pensions for retired polliticians, fuck them off too!

That scumbag Bob Carr is earning some very large sum of money working as some kind of consultant, yet is also recieving a nice juicy pension to go with it! WHat a fucking rort... :o :vader

Another election promise/change is changing back. The cut in their super is about to be reversed!

Paying themselves more and more is insulting considering their IR changes alone.

Scrutinising our political masters just got harder:puke

i just hope that anyone who voted for him and now feels betrayed takes more interest in future elections. To differentiate what’s good for their interest from the bullshit flooding the airwaves in the last days of a campaign.

LoL.

The cut in their super ended up being a 15% increase. [edit] sorry, an increase to 15%, not a 15% increase, but still : Booooooooo! [/edit]

And not even a reach-around, I feel violated.

Y'all should boycott the next set of elections. no votes, no winners. Make them have a set of policies in place before they try vote-grabbing and scare-mongering. Having no government for a short period of time cant posibly fuck things up any worse than they do when they are giving their all for us........

thats correct 15 %,mind you nobody else gets that sort of benefit just those thieves, still theres plenty of money in the pot the gst pot,now we are all tax collectors for the bastards ,,so i guess they can help themselves to it ,we dont have any say in the matter..Tach you are absolutely correct i only wish the rest of the country could develop the balls to say enough is enough and boycott the elections, the message might (very small might ) just fall on a couple of ears

Hope all you lining up tomorrow to cast your votes do the right thing. Always remember, the law needs element of common sense to be just. You DO have the right to abstain from voting, but it carries the burden of potential punishment. This can be a summary fine or you as a citizen can and will be allowed to have your say before a court** and this is where common sense arguement comes in, cant very well call ourselves a democracy if voting is made compulsory even when you dont wish to elect the chosen representatives.

Toplessbug, I have a dream.......... and in this dream people have balls.......... :D:bounce:beer

** edit : you can actually respond via the form you fill out when they send out a please explain letter after you dont show to vote, if your handwriting is legible andyour response one that contains a commonsense arguement explaing your abstinence, it may go no further than that. They just politely send you a written invitation to attend a voting complex and to bring the letter with you the next time election rolls around. The system isnt harsh, just covered in red taped and mysticised to bully people. :)

whoa.. don't be too harsh now! These children had no say in being where they are now. Nor are they responsible for what their parents are accused of. Their parents would most likely just be illegal immigrants, not terrorists (huge and incorrect generalisation to say the least!) They would probably have escaped from a country ripped apart by civil war hopeing for a better life and what do we do? Throw them in jail indefinately.. and not only that, but have their children grow up in what is essentially a prison.

i wouldn't wish that upon anyone
