Fred is a type 3 based beauty !
Fredolin (spelling) was a small delivery van invention of VW's and there werent that many made so they are dealry looked for.
sadly i dotn knwo that much about them but i know i like them
i think the volksworld magazine has one on their web site.

There are a few in OZ best to pic one up cheap in thailand or Bail and send it back .
would love one myself, did anyone see the ariticle in Volksworld few months back Fridolin Deluxe sorta Samba/fridolin slammed on 4 spoke Brm's....cool!

Theres one in this months volksworld as well.
Its cali based and there are so few parts for them that the guy who properly built th 1st one in the UK flew out to help. its not on the website yet

volks world have one http://www.volksworld.com/content/frid.html 

steve gilbert of one on one restorations did the 1st big resto of one and is the guy mentioned above. ill search out there website


i thought they were the swiss post office vans, and not avalible elsewhere.

the fridolin was a swiss postal van and are very rare, ive been looking to buy one for about 12 to 18 months and havent been able to find one under about 20g landed in oz. there is one on thesamba at the moment for us$29g. i didnt even know of any in australia. so if anyone knows of more please post the info!
empi i have that volksworld with the deluxe styled fred very very cool! would cut of body parts to own it!
