What it sells for it sells for. That's it.
This is not a 2+2 question. Don't even have any more information other than it is a split window beetle. C'mon give more than that.

I have a very, very, very:P faint lead and I was wondering how much effort to put into chasing it down - not so much a money thing. Never being a
beetle man had no idea they were that hard to come by. If I get anywhere with it I'll let you guys know

you may as well have a go, even if you don't find it you will probably have fun...
i spent three days wandering around the bush looking for one a friend said he had seen... no luck, but i enjoyed the walk.
the closest i ever came was about 7 or 8 years ago when my uncle said "i know where there is one of them, i dumped it at the tip a few years ago..."
it was long buried by then.

hi glen, i hope all is well in you neck of the woods.
that number doesn't seem right to me. from the number that i have seen/seen pictures of/heard of, either somehow all the news come to me (which i
don't believe for one second), they keep changing owners or there are more than 29.
i'd love to know for sure.
henry.

it is not really possible to work out how many there are
you would have to take in to account the cars imported by Govt at end of ww11, the immigrants that brought their cars over in the late '40's &
1950's new cars imported privately & by dealers & individuals, then the cars imported later with great fanfare by collectors & enthusiasts, & also
the cars that were imported by collectors & enthusiasts that did not make a big point of telling everybody,
you then have to subtract the cars written off & disposed of by rust or accident, & the cars exported back overseas in the last 30 or 40 years.
so the simple answer is not many - & the lead you don't chase may be the one you wish you had
Please, I need drivers side window regulator (winder mechanism) for my '54

If I lived on a farm and had one in the barn, I would chop the roof off it and make it a convertible.

If I had three of them, the other two would be - one with a suby engine, and the one would be a baja.
The day the second last one is chopped up, there will be no more controversy.
Leave one in the Wolfsburg VW museum.

i've only seen about 10 or so in 15 years of going to shows and reading mags
there is one sitting in a shed near here but i dont think any amount of Persuasion will make the owner sell
a mate i used to work with did his apprentiship in the 70s as a panel beater mainly fixing all the PMGs beetles and kombis
so he got to know vws pretty well, he told me about this old gypsy woman who brought her split when she moved to the country and converted it to RHD
her self, even still had the speedo in the left pod thing and had no passenger seat so she could throw her groceries on the floor LOL
