Want to swap. Complete, working Semi-Auto IRS running gear for Manual running gear
only things missing, 1 ATF hose, air filter and a bolt that bungs the Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) reservoir.
Compression is good, coil is great, fuel pump good, carby working, there seems to be an electrical issue with the dissy, i have a set of new points to
throw in to hopefully relieve the problem. (all else works fine)
Gearbox shifts into all, and i recently cleaned it. Control valve works, so does the clutch release trigger in the gear stick.
So all that is needed, is the dissy to be played with, an air filter, ATF line, semi auto seal between torque convertor and box, and a bolt, and shes
all complete. Was told by the previous owner (bout 6 to 8 months ago when i bought the car) that the engine was recently rebuilt.
I'm willing to trade the whole, much less common and much more LIMITED, semi auto 1500 engine, gearbox, shifter rod, semi auto
shifter, semi auto backing plate (in tunnel) all the semi auto gear, even the semi auto pedals, for a just as good condition, healthy set of ur
Run Of The Mill, common, complete IRS manual running gear.
Certainly is an option for ya to convert ur bug if ur not interested in playing with a clutch when ur in traffic. Should all bolt straight in to ur
ride.
Reason for not wanting the gear: I am doing a baja project, and although the concept of a semi auto (via the gearing and torque convertor) is great on
the bitumen and more classy, i have been advised by many to go for manual transmission for my offroading needs.

The 1500 engine has a set of street extractor exhaust.
Starter motor on the gear box is a high torque model on the semi auto. May keep it, unless any potential buys have a good offer.
When it comes to the trade off, i'm wanting the complete set of manual running gear (shifter rods, shifter, backing plate... all, like what i will be
providing)

I have what you are after
'72 s'bug irs box
'72 or '68 shift rod
gearstick and lockout plate
pedal assembly ('72 s'bug)
12v starter
also have 12v flywheel may have pressure plate and clutch plate (2nd hand) would have to check.
Downside is they are located in Mackay, keep this in mind in case you don't get an offer close to home.
Quote of the week
"Do I wish to send them to you again, nope, no interest can't be bothered really, to much hassle for little or no return."
