5 speed transaxle

Hi All, I accquired a damaged Liberty 2.2 with a 2WD 5 speed box. Has anyone investigated using one of these boxes in a VW? upside down or with reduction hubs? Just seems like too nice a box to have to get rid of. Just curious.

If you flip the gear box over so its up side down , you will find the male drive shafts a very high ( at the top of the box .Drive shafts dont line up

for a mid mount aplication would be great but not out the rear

I think there is many that have thought along this line like you .I know I have .

Mike doyle here is looking for this type of box for his WRX mid mount oval bug in Perth .

The box would be of use for him , there not realy worth a lot so if you looking to get rid of it .I have a contact number for the big fella .

Mate fill out your details so we know were you are , cheers seagull

Looking for that special lady : PM me for coffee & cake

this is a bit scary..I've been looking under the back of the kombi and i reckon this gearbox and engine might just go midmount if located 50 or so mm further rear...the CV's could handle that surely? whadya reckon Neil?
