Wanted: Semi auto bug ATF hose bolts or someone who does hydraulic fabrications ASAP
We're moving, so time i get the bug moving, this is the last procedure till the equation is complete.
The bolts that hold the ATF lines onto the gearbox casing(the 2 that go into the gear box casing, are hollow inside and have a hole on either side to
allow the fluid to go through the hoses)
And the semi auto bolt that goes into the bottom of the Auto fluid reservoir.
Anyone have these spare? woudl be great if u have the washers for em too.
If not, i might just go to Pirtek or Enzed and see what they might have, hoping the ATF ends aren't VW specific, cause i need to fabricate some
extended ATF lines (as my original mounts are gone on the baja), unless someone here is in the hydraulics industry or similar and might be able to
help me
Cheers guys,
thanx
chris.
plz email me or u2u ASAP if u can help!

Eh?
Chris,
Are you saying that you still have the lines, but haven't got the bolts & washers?
Washers shouldn't be hard to buy at Pirtek/Enzed. Note that you need 3 thick (1.5mm ish) and 3 thin (.75mm ish) in a normal configuration.
Bolts are a different story, but try your luck. Take your hoses in and see what they have. I may be able to make some up in a week or so. Bourbon &
Coke will be the cost..

Double Eh??
Chris,
Are you missing the lines as well?
I assume you are talking about the two rubber ones to/from the trans bellhousing?
Not any of the steel ones?

I got the steel tubing still... one has a kink though..., and i got the lines, one has been cut by the previous owner, and the other one is too short
(cause i have the ATF stuff in my parcel tray now, cause the baja conversion cut off the canister mounts). And 2 lines are LIA (I bought the car
without the motor originally, and the fella had to take off the lines to get the motor out, some he just cut, and threw away).. then i eventually got
the motor... and in the process, some lines have just disappeared.

I see the light
Chris,
:cry
Take stock of what you have, steel & rubber lines & banjos, label them all.
If you have all four ends of the rubber hoses, a hydraulics place can re-use these ends and make up a longer set for you.
The steel ones may be a worry. You should have :
Braided steel line from ATF tank. A steel line that joins this one to the inlet side of the Oil/ATF pump (drivers side).
A steel line that runs from the outlet of the ATF pump and pops up through your tinware.
Let's assume all the steel lines are cut/useless.
Take off the inlet/outlet fittings at the pump, label them clearly.
Take it to Pirtek etc. What you want is a replacement line (can be rubber, but high temp) from the bottom of the ATF tank to your ATF Pump, and have
them supply a hose end that matches your ATF pump inlet fitting.
The same goes for the ATF outlet to the transmission. Just measure up a suitable path for it to go and give them the ATF pump fitting + old hose ends
from your long/small diameter rubber hose. This will eliminate the outlet steel line.
The last rubber hose will be the formerly short/thick one that is the trans outlet to ATF tank filler neck.
They can use your ends and you tell them how long it should be.
Hopefully they'll be able to supply a Banjo Bolt and copper washers to suit.
If they ask, all the fittings/Banjo bolts are metric.
Attack!!
