Wel i dunno ? i am assuming the only answer is wheel spacers but i really dont wannt use them .
1. lower ball joint and rim .
2. diffrence in height.

the only way to fix it is wheel spacers ,different offset rim or a larger diameter rim.
instead of the axle being center of the trailing arms you have moved it up making the lower control arm lower closer to the rim of the
wheel.someoneelse might be able to explain it better.

The wheel rim is the problem its the off set
And the mags so you can not vary this
You will have to find an alternative wheel or use spacers on the wheel hub

Adam the Brazillian balljoints I had on one side caused a similar problem. I've now got about 5mm clearance with German bjs, that's assuming the
repro and original 2.0s have the same internal diameter.

well, it is quite obvious. You have done nothing 'wrong' as such, but you can't run that offset/diameter wheel with lowered spindles. It's as
simple as that...
You will instead have to cut and turn the beam to lower instead of drop spindles, and/or use different offset/larger wheel... I had a similar problem
with a SuperBeetle years ago with lower balljoint clearance; fixed with steelies with less backspace/offset

Regarding what ruckus said, also check the fit of the tapers on the balljoint/spindle. Less spacer between the spindle and trailing arm gives you more
rim clearance.

I think i may of pulled a few too many leafs out of my beam.
I had a look at Elmos beam and spindles as he has the same wheels etc as I and there wasnt that much clearence (did have a gap).

bad luck mate
You could narrow the beam and then fit spacers, but looks like you have a combo thats not working to well.
I'd look at some different bran ball joints and see if you can gain some clearance first.

The spindles must be different - does one have a 2, while the other has a 2.5-inch drop?
