I keep trying to tell people about them, but they reackon they are too dear. So they go and wear out a snader and use $50 of sandpaper, or use $50 of
paintstripper and associated cleanup stuff.
Bingo on the strip it discs. I have been using them for ten years in various forms, and it is only recent years the grinder ones have become
available.

looks great matey, i would be a little worried about cutting into the steel and promoting rust in the future, how abrasive are they!

these pads are great for polishing the metal before buzzing with 80-120 prior to primer.. we use them at work on panels that have been paint stripped

I used similar discs when I cleaned off corrosion from an alclad aluminium aeroplane shell. They removed the alclad but I needed to be careful about
how agressively I used them on the softer aluminium. They gave it a nice clean, machine brushed look.
In the cleaning industry the usual grading of abrasive plastic discs is, Black is the hardest, then blue, then red, then green, then orange, then
yellow. When stripping and sealing vinyl floors, the use of black discs must be done carefully so as not to remove the harder skin from the floor
tiles.A blue disc is best to remove the old sealer and then polish the new sealer with orange or yellow discs.
I suppose that there is a similar grading in hardness with these discs.

Bunnings has the blue ones (not as good but still work $10)
But Mark a place on collier Rd bayswater has then in Black....

Most hardware stores have them.. I've used them for some time too.. I also bought this shit hot coiled wire disk for my grinder today.. It was
great.. Ripping rust away without stripping too much good metal.. Cleaning in creases etc.. Little ripper!

^ I agree, but if you keep moving it's fine. They actually polish the metal so much that like Damo said you have to key the metal before you paint.
Just have to be careful around edges etc because it can eat up the disks pretty fast. Did the whole roof and front of Doc's bus with two or three of
the little bastards.
