Illegal to run out of Fuel ??? In N.Z Yes - Aust ??
[b[
On tonights Police motorway TV Show... from NZ..
a fellow on a motor bike ran out of fuel...
the cop let him off...
He had been riding on reserve... only a new rider...
but the police take a dim view of running out of fuel....
then a car had broken down...
the Cops checked the Fuel gauge...
as Running out of gas... is breaking the Law... in NZ..
How about in Australia ??? is it illegal to run out of Fuel??
Can't get an early Beetle for speeding....
Get Him for running out of gas.....:P:P

Sounds a bit over the top to me.
Apparantly the NZ police are having a blitz on leather interiors. You are only allowed sheepskin over there.

Could be Correct Paul,
as its also illegal to STOP on a Motorway.... even in NSW.
so thats really stopping.... [running out of gas]...
and its under your control...
I really thought that Cop was actually going to push that Honda over the bridge..!!
but thats why they had those US style Rubber Buffers on the front of the Police cars....
....
very good for pushing cars.....:P

Don't they have things over there on their motorways like Emergency lanes.
Imagine that, a lane on the side of the road dedicated to parking cars that have broken down, or been faced with an.....emergency.
But wait, theres more... if a broken down car is parked in the emergency lane, it won't hold up traffic flow...:thumb
Whoa.....feel the inovation.
Probably won't do much in terms of raising revenue for B.S. offences.
Silly idea..it'll never take off.

Unless you are in Melbourne, then if you park in an emergency lane you'll hold up a bus!

I also noticed on that show the ridiculous way kiwis pronounce subaru.
where we say sue-buh-roo with the first and last syllables emphasised, they say sub-bar-roo with the middle syllable emphasised. Dirty bastards have
no trouble with the word "merino" though. And we give these people free access to our country!!!

If it was illegal to run out of fuel here, my missus would have had about 50 fines in the last few years. She has to keep two full fuel containers in
the boot, because she will use one when she has run out, and then not fill the container, then run out again and have to use the second container. It
is up to me to keep the containers full and the roadside assistance paid up. I will never get petrol for her when she runs out now.

It's illegal to run out of fuel on the motorways in most european countries too. The idea is that if you are responsible enough to drive at high
speeds on a motorway, then you should be responsible enough to maintain your vehicle.
We're the odd one's out.

As far as i know down here you only get fined if you run out of fuel on the tasman bridge.. but that's understandable, because there is NOWHERE to
pull over!

in nsw the only thing you get fined for is speeding.
i see a car with 100% bald tyres every couple of weeks. I cant believe cops dont see them and slap defect notices on them. same with cars with no
lights, missing bumpers, shit hanging from the mirror, not keeping left.... anything goes, except speeding

I do the petrol and clean the windscreen for the missus too.
Funny how the missus can work out how to use new technology etc. but can't figure out how to pump up a car tyre!
It doesn't say much for equality....good thing I do it for the love!:kiss

Hmmm I see now. It has come to me in a flash of light.
Last night we stopped and filled up with petrol.
I filled the car with petrol while she sat in the drivers seat, filled the emergency fuel container that was empty, washed ALL of the windows, pumped
up ALL of the tyres, paid for the fuel, and even got her a Turkish delight bar.
Pregnant women can be very demanding.
