JNR'S BIG THANX RE: OZ'TOBER CRUISE
So its October 29th 2006, 6am…….sh*t!!!!!! lol
Outta bed make my self beautiful, hmmm OK!! Lol, pack the car get the family pack them in the car. My mate and his car load turn up and its off to the
meet point.
I arrive there 7:30ish 2 cars already here “wow that’s a good start”
I look around, 2 big trucks parked the carpark “ that’s ok” I say to myself, 80 odd cars said they were coming but you usually only get 60-70%
of the numbers WRONG!!!!!!
8:30am, the official meet time, we already have 20 cars. The girls are flogging tickets and the phone rings. It’s the Fast Fours Photographer
Brendon “oh he’s calling to say he cant make it” I say to myself, WRONG again. He’s on his way, BLOODY AWESOME!!!.
Cars start to fill the carpark as Shane and I collect parking money and hand out info packs.
9:00am Its a mad house my mate Rico and Jake start trying to direct the cars to keep the carpark reasonably neat . Cars enter left right and centre
and as I walk through them all I, yes me JNR22B, get a this proud feeling almost like a proud parent watching their kid do something great. NO I
DIDN’T CRY lol, but I did have to swallow a big lump in my throat .
9:30 closes in as we try to finish of all that we needed to do. We gather and listen to the all mighty Chris E Freshmiester dish out the info on the
day.
Gentleman……and Ladies START YOUR ENGINES lol
How cool was it…..weather, traffic all seemed to be on our side this day.
I had an awesome time not only leading the pack but dropping back to get some great footage for the DVD, Thanx honey .
To the guy in the rex next to me at the lights, was that you 2 prize Deano??? You cant launch on a green arrow lol.
Its was great to see you all driving sensibly, I know on roads like that it can be hard lol.
One of the funniest moments for me was when the Mrs was bolting for the bushes to do u know whats lol as I filmed you all coming down to the turn off,
look out for it on the video.
Rolling down to the Hotel to see all the cars was awesome.
Once again the girls were in sales mode, we ran out of tickets so fast.
What really blew me away was people just donating $20, $50, $100 dollars, we had no more tickets but you were still happy to give the money, I cant
thank you enough. I want to thank you all for your patience with the photographer, Brendon, he took some mad pics should be some awesome shots there
and i really hope and look forward to it hopefully making the magazine.
Wow what a day. Over 80 cars and $2,000 raised
I really couldn’t have asked for more.
We were blessed with great weather great traffic conditions and best of all great people.
I’d first of all like to thank my family and most of all the Mrs, Liana for putting up with all those nights alone on the couch without me, without
her love and support this day would not be possible.
Secondly Jake, mate you are a legend. Jake picked up the piece’s of this cruise early on when I was not able to organise it anymore. Without Jakes
doings this cruise again would not have happened.
I want to thank all the behind the scenes people too and the people that helped on the day, Rico aka YBS10W, Shane aka SUBZERO45, T aka MIDDLE MAN for
looking after Brendon, Chris aka CHRIS E FRESH, Amir aka CRAZY aka RACEBORN, Anthony AKA 2GU UP and Bernard AKA RXI73D did I miss anyone?????? Lol
All these guys showed there support not only this year but also last year and I look forward to doing this all again with them next year.
Yvonne and Liana the maniac tickets sellers. How awesome are they, every year they give their day to help us. This means so much to me and the club so
thanks a million ladies.
Hamilton Halfway Hotel, thanks so much for doing your best to feed the hordes of drivers and passengers. It was a big ask, Jake we need something
bigger next year , and they did their best. I hope all enjoyed their
feed.
Jenolan Caves, wow what an awesome group of people thanx to them not only did we have that awesome car park they donated a prize and all the parking
money. I also had the pleasure of doing a cave tour on the day, although I was totally stuffed the Mrs and daughter dragged me along and im very happy
they did. So get back up there people and have a look.
