Back up lights - type 3
Where is the reverse switch located in a 73 fasty(auto)? So far i have the wire that comes off the coil and then goes into an inline fuse. From there
i think it is supposed to go to the switch but cant find a wire anywhere. It then is supposed to come out of the switch? then split into two and go to
each reversing light. This is according to the Haynes manual.
Pls Help. Holding me up for roadworthy!!!
Cheers
Dave

I think that baybuscamperkid is almost correct. Mine goes to a switch on the top drivers side of the gearbox. the SAMBA site has quite a few wiring
diagrams for Type3 and there are also diagrams at the end of the ISP pdf catalog
From what I remember the fused wire from the coil goes to one terminal of the switch and then the other terminal has a wire that splits somewhere
further along and then branched out one wire to each reverse light
And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, for if you hit a man with a ploughshare, he'll know he's been hit

cheers fellas
the switch is the auto shift itself. A small black wire goes from there to the back up light wire and includes an inline fuse. Previous owner had
plugged this wire into the auto kickdown switch?
Problem solvered.
