not sure dave. 64 ruby red is the one im after. i was under the impression that if i had the colour code of the specific colour i wanted, all i had to
do was find a paint supplier who had documentation that contained the formula for the colour. is this the case or am i barking up the wrong tree?
thanks rob.

Was Ruby Red used on Locally made VWs
or only imported VWS??
I don't remember seeing any red beetles
only type 3s...
My cousin had a red Beetle in the 60s but it had been repainted...
although it was really red red....
cheers

No they were Australian Made Everything
There were heaps of Ruby Red Beetles
If your painting the whole car including inner n under guards then i suggest that you get 6 liters of paint mixed so you will have a liter
or so left over for later touch ups store it in your beer fridge at home in a good air tight container
apply the base coat using about 2 liters of so then mix all of the paint you have left into one tin this will give a more even colour when the top
coats are applied

id thought to maybe buy 4 litres and that would leave me enough let over. 6litres sounds like a lot, but youve probably restored more cars than me
dave, so ill take your word for it. ps can you put more pics of nude chics on your web page?

yeah 6 is a lot but it is better to apply more than find you almost out
So dont 4 get the mixing of the tins on the last couple of coats
Are you doing Acrylic or 2 Pak ???
I just did my 76 beetle n had to go n get another 1 liter mixed i was planning on 4 but used almost 3 liters on the inner bits then applied
clear to make it spread in the final few coats
