Beetle identification help

It looks like i found a nice "shed find" well its under a house and ready to be put back together. the only problem is the lady is my brothers girlfriend and it was her dad who died. and she wants me to leave it the stock colour so it looks like its time for a semi cal look. i don't know what year it is, it has swing axle suspention and disc front and its a 4 stud. im assuming this means it is a ball joint front end. can anyone help me with what year model this could be. and does anyone have a photo of a slammed bug in the standard pale green vw used. im trying to get a feel of what the end product could be like. thanks all

should be a 68-70 1500 model with the disc brake front as the later standard beetles had drums all round.
have a look at the chassis number or the VIN plate in the spare wheel well area.
by the sounds of the colour its a 1500

I can't remember any greens in 1968...
white was the favorite colour....
or so VW thought... does it have black & white wheels??
spare wheel will be sitting upright...
if its laying down flat its a super beetle...

As some else said, if it has disc brakes on the front,
its a 68-69 or 70 model Non super beetle...
Will have ball joint front end... swing axle rear end and 1500, although not many 1500s left most have been made into 1600s..
probably single port original engine...
Engine number is just above the Crankshaft pulley..
Chassis number is under the rear seat in front of the oval plate....

The other alternative:
if it also has the vents on the side behind the side windows and CV joints on the rear it would be a 1976 non super model...
Non Supers from 1971-1975 model years, had drum brakes on the front ...

i'll bet its a 70 1500

the colour u describe was a 1970 and the very occasional late 69 and if its got disc front and swinger rear like u said its a 68-70 1500
if its got 2 sets of decklid vents its a 70
