What condition are the extractors? Are they brand new as well? What length is the stinger?
If you drive an early aircooled volkswagen be proud of it and have it powered by an aircooled engine!

vwkid - please don't take this as an insult or any form of negative criticism but having noticed many of your posts on avd ie: " will this make my
1870 faster etc etc etc" . i would recommend purchasing a book of some description like the "how to hotrod a vw engine" or something around those
lines and start researching. start learning as much as you can from literature etc on how things work, what might work etc etc so you can get an idea
of whats involved in engines, what you can and cant do to increase HP etc.
start there, get yourself a base of knowledge, work out what you have exactly and then work out where you want to go from there. then start asking
questions. then start purchasing, rebuilding...
i think you will be far better off - goodluck

i agree with nick on that one
there are heaps of great manuals out there and u can never have enough i've got a cupboard full of them
coz each will have differnt methods and ideas
plus every engine is different and the same parts react differently on different motors
maybe start another thread and find out the full specs of ur engine
unless its a stroked 1600 (which i doubt) 1870 isnt even a proper size
u'll probably find its an 1835
appologies also to paul for hijacking

Rehijack...
I'd strongly recommend picking up a copy of Tom Wilson's How To Rebuild Your Volkswagen Aircooled Engine while your at it.
Maybe one of the CLymer workshop manuals which have some useful performance-modification related apendices wouldnt go astray...

get yourself a copy of Keith Seume's Aircooled interchange manual as well.
will help you understand differences between and applications for different hi-po gear.
Most people seem normal, till you get to know them.
