My '58 'The Slater'**new pics**

Hi Dubstaz,

I've finally decided to put some pics up of my first VW that got me hooked to all things VW. I did a visual of what it was going to look like when it was finished but decided to put a nice color on instead of satin black....
I've done all the work on the body/paint myself but a pro painter buddy of mine put on the final color and clear.
I haven't had time to do much more to it with time the way it is but hope to get it back to the streets soon.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look- Wayne

After hours and hours of rubbing etc the black base coat goes on. This is the stage that I find the most exciting and stressful as its at this moment that you get to see if all that hard work is going to pay off...

I put a black base so that under low light it will look almost black, and slightly different hues depending on the type of light. This is the first few coats of color

Hi Ctf,

I have got some 4" stock 14's on the front and 7" rear that I color coded to go on the rear with fat and skinny whitewalls tyres. I do have the Pros too but will see which is better suited

Pretty colour dude. I'd keep the dragways - nice old school drag look.

Dash put together

Slowly but surely putting the thing back together...
I had a sports steering but I thought a silver pearl bat would compliment the dash better.

Rebuilt stock engine, rebuilt heads(thanks Neil) and just detailed. I was going to run Kadrons but keeping it simple and reliable. S&S headers bolted on for a little better breathing....

I actually said "wow" out loud when I saw the picture of your engine.
Nice detailing.
Keep it coming.
