dude you can get plenty of cabinet plans off the net from the US and UK. Just get a wood shop to cut em or do it yerself. You can get all the console
bits too, cabinet mouldings etc, together with artwork. Go Mame. Completed mame cabinets fetch more than they cost.
Unless you want to 'collect' then it's a different story, as really good ones are hard to find from Bally etc., the clones are pretty much
worthless. I'd save yourself the hassle of dealing with the PCBs. A Pent 3 is more than enough.
I've got a Dragon's Lair running on Daphne emulation.
Warby can make you the light boxes!

Costa,
check out these sites. Plenty of info on how to do it yourself. I can lend a hand over Christmas. Seriously, emulation is the way to go. Why limit
yourself to one game. I have all the classics and Mame running on an XBOX, Mac and PC, so just choose your platform. Get yourself a keyboard encoder
from Ultimarc and wire up the buttons, its that easy.

Yup as the chaps say use MAME, i have all the street fighter roms which run on it.
To be clear mame emulates the arace game machine and runs the actual rom's, so the game is 100% correct.
I use this the x-arcade joystick, its spot on heavy and real good
http://www.xgaming.com.au/
If you want the street fighter roms and a mame prog to run them with give me a U2U and i will sort you out. No install just unzip and click

Im researching to make one too.
I have the idea to make the controller boxes removable so you can sit opposite like a tabletop and then remove the back one to have both on the same
side to play fighters.
I LOVE gauntlet but am still learning of the emulators and roms.
Maybe we should have an AVD game makers guild!
Does anyone know of the MAME emulator that runs from the cd ie boot computer from cd, cycle through the games with the joystick and then select/
I do not mean to hijack xxx I am trying to help on the right track. I have plans in the post and am a pretty dab chippie so the 'guild' could
benifit us all and have AVDers return to the day in the chippie gasping for another 20c
kkk

if you don't have room for a cabinet ... how about running Mame on a mini-tix board. You can get that to boot from a CD. Check out http://www.mini-itx.com/store/ for the hardware...then with a little imagination
and a toy VW you could make something like this ...
http://www.mini-itx.com/projects/supra-server/ ... no need to use a big motherboard...

hey I like what I'm hearing! A few years ago I made a arcade controller for my xbox.
It's got the namco/jap domestic buttons/stick which I imported from a company in Japan. I use
it for SF2/Turbo/SSF2/CVSNK2 (my fave) and SF3.
I'd love an original Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 2 machine, but there is nothing like finding a SF2 machine at a fish/chip shop etc.. nowadays.
Last time I was there, they still had a SF2 at Melbourne International Airport! Very hard to do dragon punches though, bad aussie buttons or
something.
