SWAP: type 3 door scratch guards help
Hi Guys
I have just purchased a pair of ‘new old stock’ type 3 door handle scratch guards from the states that arrived today.
The problem is that either they are for a very early type 3 (around 1962...) or wrong model car.
I'm under the impression that the guards would fit snug into the indent of the door with no gap between the door and the guard.
Without installing these bad boys, its easy to tell that will not fit snug.
The indent on my type 3 1968 is far too deep.
The boxes label is in German (only thing I can read is Volkswagen, approved accessories and mad in Germany)
Its marked:
Erprobtes Zubehor
1 Satz
turgriffmuscheln
000 071 071
If anyone out there has any info on my problem or would like to swap for a pair that would fit a 1968 type 3 square please let me know.
I will try to get some images up today.
Cheers
Lee

They wont fit a 68 on type 3 , Scuff plates from a late 68 on beetle will fit your car , if you wish to sell your pre 68 plates i am intersted. Late
beetle finger plates are easy to find.

Cheers guys.
Bushed thanks for the translation... great work.
Dave, the guy looking for them a few weeks back was me...haha good memory
Empi, I would like to try to get my money back on these bad boys as they are in perfect condition, never been used so if I can't swap them to
same/similar condition ones that will fit my car was wanting to sell them for around $80 shipped.
Thanks again guys for the info and help
