How disappointing to see the Iron Cross variant of the Maltese Cross associated with AVD in this manner.
This symbol, beloved by neo-nazi groups as an ersatz swastika, would seem to have nothing to do with
Volkswagens, let alone "Aussie" Volkswagens, *except* by way of its association with the Nazi Third Reich.
The incorporation of the VW logo in the centre echoes almost exactly the design which used the Iron Cross
with the swastika in the centre as used in Germany from 1939 until its post-war banning.
I don't care how 'kewl' the designer thinks this trite and derivative design is, it *will* cause offense to people
who were victims of the Nazi party in WWII and, as such, is highly inappropriate for AVD merchandise.
Put me down for none.

hey there s-deez.
mate i have seen your other posts with the stickers and stuff, and they are pretty cool and am sure many will get people interested for em, from you.
there was no real grief intended... i jsut think that the AVD banner as it stands now is a far more versitile and aussie styled for all. and yes it is
only my opinion and i am sorry if i offended you mate.
and sorry. i have tried looking thru your posts and i can not see anywhere asking for thoughts on a redesigned banner before this thread.

Freedom of speech! hahahaha what a joke..
Surely you realise that the Swastika has been around in various forms since ancient times.. those "evil Nazi men" you're blabbering on about merely
borrowed it. Likewise with the Iron Cross.. Originally a symbol of the Teutonic Order - and not to be mistaken with the similar Maltese Cross. In fact
a stylized version of it (strikingly similar to the one used by the Nazi party) is in use by the German Armed Forces and was in use before Mr. Hitler
even came into power. So please, get off of your feel good high horse of equality and freedom and use your brain ...
Don't let someone guilt you into changing your design.

I like the symbol for what it is.
I like the AVD symbol as it was.

I think it looks great. I wouldn't put it on my car, but the cross and flames are usually a pretty good looking combo and I reckon a lot will agree
and be happy to wear it. There are only 2 non-positive responses out of a couple of thousand, so....
Good thing is, you now have to come up with more designs to keep everybody happy. Why should we be limited to one design?
Go hard son, and good job!

I really like this.....(top of rear screen).....ordinary pic, but it's the only one I have with me.....I originally ripped this off from Two Guns,
then added another wing. It has the club name across the top but you can't really see it here.
The VW logo with wing was used in the Aussie only bug bonnet emblem. So you've got an Aussie flavoured, vintage looking thing.
Put me down for 5. Plus 2 of the Cross with flame 'cos they'll be collectable one day. ...sell them on here in 2017!!

I didn't see the new sticker....
but I still like the old one and still have a few to use...
I have a round VW sticker with gearlike teeth around it...
that was also used by Hitler....
and the KDF stickers were also copies of Hitler used signs..
The Swastika was outlawed in Germany after the war...
probably all of the above was outlawed in Soviet controlled East Germany....
so as far as I know its illegal to own a swastika flag or emblem in the Federal Republic of Germany ....
The dreaded SS and Gestapo had SS and skull and crossed bones emblems on their uniforms,
and they killed millions of Jews and Soviets...
but those emblems aren't outlawed....
otherwise there would be no more Pirates....
without the skull and cross bones flags...
How about giving Us another look at the new stickers...
I probably still prefer the original stickers...

What about the poor bastard who printed up heaps of stickers only to have someone else hand out 100's of others for free.
Makes it hard to move stuff when that happens. Needless to say I still have a few as well.
