[FS - VIC] '75 Dual Cab Ute SOLD
G'day Everyone,
I am selling my dual cab ute to financial reasons caused by an addiction to travelling...
SELLING: 1975 Dual Cab Ute
PRICE: SOLD
LOCATION: Melbourne, Victoria.
Here's a quick overview with some more details at the end from the guy who I bought it from.
MAIN FEATURES:
- 2.6L Sigma engine (very powerful and reliable!!)
IMPORTANT: The car is actually registered with that engine so no engineers certificate is needed for RWC)
- runs on straight LPG (very cheap!!) (still in date)
- 10 MONTHS REGO
- 90Ltr Gas tank
- new windscreen
- Alloy wheels
new front brake pads
- excellent automatic gearbox!
- very good heater and demister
- mp3/cd player with a set of 6 by 9's (sounds very good)
- body in good condition except for damage to the front left that has been pulled out and smoothed a bit but still could look much nicer
- tail gates in very good nick with only a little rust down the bottom
- tyres have plenty of tread but are weathered on the sides
The ute has been fantastic for me and is incredibly versatile with both seating and carrying capacity. The engine is just sensational and running on
LPG is probably the cheapest running kombi out there. The engine starts great and never overheats and has plenty of pull. It could definitley use a
respray and a little body work but otherwise is a great kombi.
If you have any queries U2U me oe call me on 0428385272.
Cheers,
Dustin
Here's other details from the guy who I bought it from.
HIGHLY MODIFED DUALCAB 75 (ALTHOUGHT LOOKS STOCK AT LEAST FROM THE BACK WHICH IS WHAT MOST DRIVERS SEE) 3 OWNER IN GOOD CONDITION, FIRST OWNER WAS A
BUILDER TILL 1984, SECOND A FLOOR POLISHER PURCHASED IT FROM SUBARU/VOLKWAGEN ESSENDON IN 1984 AFTER IT HAD A LIGHT RESPRAY AROUND AND BEEN DUAL TONE
PAINTED, THIRD (ME) PURCHASED FROM THE 72 Y. OLD GENT WHEN HE SOLD IT 4 YEARS AGO, THIS TRUCK HAD A LIGHT WORK LIFE, THE OLD MAN I GOT IT FROM HAD A
CROOKED KNEE BY THEM SO HAD IT PROFISSIONALLY CONVERTED TO AUTO, AND BECAUSE RUNNED LIKE A SNAIL WITH THE 2 LITER ACORDING TO HIM HE HAD IT ALSO
CONVERTED TO A SIGMA ENGINE AND STRAIGHT LPG PERFORMANCE SYSTEM.
SIGNIFICANT WORK DONNE THE LAST 4 YEARS: HAD A COUPLE YEARS AGO FRONT DISCS (GERMAN ZIMMERMAN) GERMAN NEW DRUMS AND PADS, NEW GERMAN LEFT AND RIGHT
COMPLET TIE ROD SETS, ALSO LAST YEAR I INSTALLED A NEWER MAGNA MOTOR THIS ONE IS FROM A 95 TS CAME FROM A PREVIOUSLY OWNED S. ARMY CAR HAD FULL BOOKS
AND 168TKM, IS THE LATEST VERSION AND HAVE ROLLER RATIO ROCKERS STRONGER BLOCK, AND HYDRALIC CHAIN TENSIONER, PULLS LIKE A TRAIN (AND THEY CHEAP I
CANNOT PRAISE THIS CONVERSION MORE AS THIS 100KW ENGINE COST 350 A SET OF 2 LITER HEADS WILL COST DOUBLE)
WHEN THE ENGINE WAS RE-INSTALLED THE GAS RESEARCH LPG CARBIE HAD TO BE RESET AS THIS ENGINE HAD WAY MORE POWER GOT CLOSE TO 70 KW ON THE REARS, THE
GAS SYSTEM IS ALL GAS RESEARCH, PERFORMANCE S-350 CARBIE, B-2 CONVERTOR WITH TURBO CAPABILITY AND A VERY LARGE 90 LITERS TANK
ALSO THE GEARBOX HAD BEEN TRICKED AND FULL REBUILT BY SOME MOB, AROUND FERN TREE GULLY JUST BEFORE THE OLD MAN SOLD IT TO ME (COST ALONE 2 GRAND), IT
FEELS VERY SMOOTH AND VERY QUICK BETTER THEM SOME NEW CARS (MY WIFE'S AUDI 90 2.3E), I ALSO INSTALLED A DIFF WITH A BETTER HIGHWAY RATIO OUT OF A
2.1L 89 KOMBI WASSERBOXER. ALSO HAVE A TRUCK BATTERY WHICH IS ONLY A COUPLE YEARS OLD.
IT DOES HAVE BLISTEN SHOCKERS ON THE FRONT, HEAVY DUTY GAS ON BACK, AND GOOD 15 ALLOY WHEELS. THERE IS NO OIL LEAKS (UNUSUAL ON A KOMBI) THE PADS ARE
VERY MEATY, DISC ARE CLEAN AND NOT SCORED, AND IT ALSO HAD NEW WHEEL BEARINGS ON FRONT COUPLE YEARS AGO, THE CV'S JOINTS ARE GREAT, INTERIOR IS CLEAN
WITH GOOD RUBBER MATT , CONFY COVERS, GOOD HEAD LINING (BIT DIRTY NEEDS A SCRUBE) ALL RUBBERS ARE OK, UNDER THE SEAT THERE IS A HEATER DEMISTER WICH
DEMISTS THE REAR GLASS AND CAMES ALL THE WAY TO THE FRONT ALSO AS NORMAL, IT ALSO HAVE RARE AMBULANCE FANS , VERY UNUSUAL ON A KOMBI DUALCAB, ALL
LIGHTS WORK AND EVERYTHING PERFORMS.
I WOULD NEVER SELL THIS CAR AS I AM SURE FOR THE MONEY I GET I WILL ONLY FIND WORST, UNFORTUNETTLY WAS STUPID ENOUGH TO PUT IT IN THE WOMAN NAME 4
YEARS AGO, THE DIVORCE IS COMING AND SHE WILL NOT SELL IT TO ME OR LET ME CAME WITH ANY OTHER ARRANJEMENTS, I HOPE IT GOES TO A GOOD HOME AND GETS
ENJOYED AS MUCH AS I DID, AND I HOPE ITS SOMEBODY WHO CHANGES CARS EVERY YEAR, AS NEXT YEAR I WILL BUY IT AGAIN.
CAN BE DRIVEN ANYWHERE AS I LEAVE THE REGO AND THE ORIGINAL BLACK AND WHITE PLATES ON THEY ARE 1975 ISSUE, WILL ALSO ASSIST WITH FREIGHT INTERSTATE IF
NECESSARY. I HAVE A RESERVE WICH IS NOT TO MUCH AS WOULD BE ENOUGH FOR ME TO BUY A NEW ADAPTOR PLATE AND THE MITSUBISHI ENGINE AND RADIATOR, A LPG GAS
SYSTEM AND A NEW SET OF GERMAN TIE RODS AND BRAKES INSTALLED AGAIN IF I OWNED A BUGGERED ONE. ALL THE MODS CAN BE REVERTED TO ORIGINAL AS NO METAL
BEEN CUT TO INSTALL IT, INCLUDING COULD BE REVERTED TO MANUAL AS WELL , THE ENGINE WORKS GREAT I CHANGE THE COOLANT AND OIL AND FILTER EVERY
10.000K'S IT WORKS A BIT COLD I BEEN TOLD BY A MITSUBISH EXPERT TO PLACE THE RADIATOR UNDER THE CAR AS WE PLACED A REMOTE THERMOMETER UNDER THE CAR
FOR A FEW DAYS AND HE REACKONS WOULD BE SPOT ON , NOT TO MENTION BETTER LOOKING.

Yeh I got it off ebay.
Yes it runs on straight gas and is still in date for about another 5 years I think, I will check.
Other info I forgot:
- The steering pin is worn causing play in the steering wheel.
- Also a RWC can be arranged at buyers expense.
ADDED BONUS: The carbon the kombi emits for the next year has already been offset by planting trees!! Yep, a car with a conscience!

Bad decision to put the kombi into the wifes name. However all the previous owner had to do was make it look bad enough so no one would want to buy
it. This can be achieved by painting with a roller and brush. He started to apply this technique on the front and just needed to go all over the
car.
Cheers Tom.
