near New 1954 beetle
yeah, well I don't know what else to call it, but it is the reason I have mine, this is dad (died 1969) with the car when it was almost new, in most
other photos I have it is not shiney, note the suction cap thing on windscreen, I think it is a passenger sunvisor. I have never seen these photos
before, but was going through my mums things as she is now in a nursing home, so I will also put this fantastic photo of him on his Douglas Motor
Cycle, taken in the mid '30's, he was a well known trials champion in NSW before WW11

Please, I need drivers side window regulator (winder mechanism) for my '54

Very nice Kim. Great to see the old Photo's come out! Peach is every bit as good (or better) than your Dad's!
That douglas photo is just great, beware the old flywheel eh!! They were a great bike in their day for sure.

yep. it is great that we can now instantly & permanently share them with the world & save them forever, where as previously so much was lost, or
hidden away in bags & boxes
I have a few thousand photos back to 19th century that I have been trying to sort, & distribute historically interesting ones to the right people.
Few people on AVD would care about a Douglas M/C pic, but someone somewhere will & pass it on & so on
and as regards the beetle pic, how many people knew about or have ever seen that suction cap sunvisor thing for the passenger, now somebody might find
one & know what it is
Please, I need drivers side window regulator (winder mechanism) for my '54

kombikim not meaning to be a vulture but if you have any railway related pics looking for a home, u2u me. the Australian Railway Historical Society
archives would be a good place for them (my dad volunteers there so would know exactly who you would need to talk to.)
any pics with sandstone earthworks, timber bridges or road formations in general (especially if it is around the northern sydney - hunter valley
region)?
again sorry to be a vulture
