Pro-Street Karmann Ghia - 25000
Would you like a one of a kind hot rod that you can actually take to the track and have some fun? This is no fairground queen. Sure, you can cruise to the burger joint or go on a rod run, but, if you want to hit the Friday Night street drags at the local track you have a car that has already been down the straight and narrow. No white knuckle launches or guardrail scraping passes, just pull the belts tight and run 10’s all night. Car is safe, stable and easy to drive at the track. Rides and handles well on the street.
All steel body stretched to 100” WB. Fully licensed and street legal, retains original VIN plate, lights, signals, horn, etc. Violet pearl over red DuPont basecoat/clearcoat paint. Full interior, gray carpet, gray/charcoal leather upholstery, Kirkey seats, VDO gages. Fully functional original roll up window glass. 15 x 4 and 15 x 15 Weld wheels with 18.5x31 Hoosier Quick Time tires. Coated Headman headers with 4” exhaust. Aluminum 12 gallon fuel cell, dual electric fuel pumps, dual batteries. Ron Davis aluminum radiator and dual fans. Oil cooler and trans cooler with integral fans. Hood will accommodate a 6-71 or 8-71 blower.
Full tube chassis, NHRA certified rollcage. Mustang II tubular front with adjustable coilovers and rack and pinion steering. Wilwood billet Dynalite 4 piston vented disc brakes front and rear. Coilover 4-link rear, Mosier 9” Ford with 4.10 gears, TCI powerglide, and 3200 RPM stall B&M converter. 427 Chevy bored 060, steel crank, forged pistons (9.5 cr) Moroso pan & pump. Rectangular heads, fully ported, stainless valves, K-motion springs, titanium retainers, roller rockers, Comp magnum mechanical roller cam. Mallory /MSD ignition and either a single Holley Strip Dominator or Edelbrock Victor-ram with 2 660 Holley’s.
Car runs low 10’s on street tires through the mufflers. Best of 9.72 @138 with 125 hp NOS plate. Also have low 8 second engine combination available.

Holy shit!

Yes, the motor is in the wrong place, but with a nice under-bonnet intake system (ie without the bug-catcher sticking through the bonnet), I'd learn to live with it. :tu:

Very nice! Its a shame theres to many pots and in the wrong spot, waste of a great looking Ghia!

I would love to get it sell the drive train and use that money to begin the turn around to get it back into a rear engine flat four toy!!!

Each to there own tho it does look good!!!

If you drive an early aircooled volkswagen be proud of it and have it powered by an aircooled engine!

Look the other way and run, no thanks not for me.

This is my Volkswagen, there are many like it, but this one is mine. Without me my Volkswagen is useless, without my Volkswagen, I am useless.
