Rotisserie for a split question. (Finished)

Hi all,
I'm building a rotisserie for my Splitty Single Cab and was wondering if anyone here had done the same and knows where the centre of gravity is. I'm guessing about 3 inches below the head light. Or if anyone has a picture of a Single Cab on a spit, that would help to. Thanks......

Adam

Hey Adam
your PM didnt come thro
my digi cam batteries were flat so i had to take these with my phone so sorry bout the quality

hes had single cabs, panels etc on this he said it doesnt matter but the best height is 1.3m for the swivel point
that is a good working height and allows it to fully rotate upside down
the swivel should be level with the VW badge on the front

hes about to make one for bay window kombis
hes happy to talk to u on the phone about it so just email/msn me joelmiller82 at hotmail dot com
and i'll give u his number

Nice job with the photos. Pretty good for a mobile. Does it spin easily. It looks like the weight is fairly low. I've sent you an email. Thanks again.

I think you will find that if you make pivot point at the lower hole for VW logo it wont be far wrong

Mine is about 50mm above that now

If it's bottom heavy and a twin cab my ute should have a lower C of G than that. From that picture I'm thinking of making the pivot between the head lights. I made a fair bit of progress today until I forgot about that thing called Duty Cycle and my welder stopped. It's running again now that it's cooled down but I couldn't be bothered going back out.

Nearly finished

I've nearly finished the spit. I've gone for a different idea. It works well and is really easy to put the bus on. I'll post some pics when I can resize them.

It sits on rollers. I'll take some more pics tomorrow. I've used rubber rollers but I'm going to machine up some steel ones to make it roll a bit easier.
