Type 4 into Type 3 6volt
How to fit a type 4 into a type three without any butchering. This was discussed on the old forum but alas. Anyone out there done this, particularly
in Melbourne or surrounds as you can read all you like but is still better to speak to people and see what they have done
Cheers

go to
http://www.aircooledtechnology.com/Home_Page.htm
and go to "jakes thoughts" and then "type IV, will it fit?"
basically a type4 goes into a type3 without cutting, and retains the stock type 4 cooling system .

I think you'll have trouble with the flywheel - in a beetle conversion the later flywheel will try to cut into the bellhousing of a 6V tranny.
