[WTB - ACT] What's It Worth?

I been looking around for a while for a Beetle and have come across this one. It is a 1960 model with Semaphore indicators. As you can see from the photos, it needs a substantial amount of work as it has not been on the road since the 1970's and currently includes special options including moss and two wasp nests.

The car is complete, the motor is original, will turn over but not start. It is rust free except for surface rust. The car is also straight and is a local car.

I was looking orginally at doing a volksrod, but this like a nice car to restore.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers

Murray

ur kidding arnt you. its complete, straight and if little rust is true a good model to get and a change over model so not that common. can be a good car if its restored but considering todays trend it will probably be ratted. seems it has good rat traits.

i reckon you would get 1200- 1500 if auctioned/offered.

looks like a good wash, clean and bettery and it would be interesting...

Thanks for all of the requests for more information and cost guidelines. I am currently awaiting on a friend to return from NZ to have a look at it with me to determine if it is worth pursuing.

From what I can understand there is no structural rust.

I am hoping to have a much closer going over later this week to better determine what parts / work is required. I will also endeavour to take some additional photos at this time.

If I choose not to buy it, I will talk with the owner to see if he wishes to advertise it or for me to pass your details on.

From the feedback I have got, if the car is complete and no structural rust, I should be looking at around $1,000 to $1,500. That should also include the wasp nests.

Cheers

Muzza

I talked with the owner again today and he no longer selling it.

He already had another 59 which had a minor prang ages ago which did not have a perfect fx. He has decided to use the body of this car and put it on the existing chassis he already had. Bugger.

I may however be luck in picking up the remaining chassis / body that may be left over. Wait and See
