FS (NSW): 1973 Dual Cab

Andrew

Sydney
12mths Rego as of 2/2/07
$8,500 ono

Very regrettful sale, love this ute as did Mitchell prior to me. Extensive termite damage found in our double story garage in first floor and roofing thus needs funding to fix (just have to work out how to carry all the building material when the dual cab is gone!)

Effectively have rehashed Mitchells add of 7 months ago with added extras.

Included in sale are the side step, parcel tray, trip speedo / tacho cluster, bumper rubbers and gear stick extension. Spare 1800 engine, 2 front straight rust free doors and other odd bits here and there.

Have also installed new sand colour TMI trim into rear and have front set as well but not yet installed and Hella driving (spot) lights.

Extensive work done to suspension and ride to make this thing go around corners as listed below. Amazed at how well it handles, better around corners than my Fasty. Have also just put in 75% working life steering box which has really completed all the prior work done.
Its a 1973 2 lt running gear and a mildly worked 1800Lt mechanically excellent only a very slight oil leak from the fuel pump non others. Gear box is good just the typical sloppy change easily fixed. In the last 12 months the following has been done.
New tyres
New BRMs
Recently serviced.
New suspension, BJ's , shocks "drag link, etc
New center pin and steering dampner
New wheel bearings
New rear nolathane swingarm bushes
New brakes , pads disc rotors wheel cylinders
New Split system panasonic Cd
New door rubbers, window slides felts etc
New opening quarter vents and rubbers
New door seals , and windscreen rubber ( not fitted)
New Bosch tail lights, clear front indicators
New seals and rubbers for headlights, taillights & indicators
Fish oiled again
$1000 worth of soundproofing ( material cost only) using Wurth Q pads( OEM style tar sheets) and fully fitted bulkheads and under seat tin with non backed marine carpet ( nice finish) very quiet.

Mostly original paint, very straight for age and being a work truck. Very minor rust in passenger side windscreen comes with repair section and new rubber. Some rust in gate sections but not a lot.
Only other rust is very very minor and has been treated. It has not had any repaired rust as it hasnt rusted. Never thrashed the tray, is excellent it was a carpet layers vehicle from new. Comes with lots nice bits, late deluxe steering wheel, trip speedo and tacho ( nicely matched Type 3 one), alloy side step, OG under dash mesh style parcel tray, deluxe bumper rubbers , old man gearstick extension, bosch reversing light.

Would make a great project to bring back to life or enjoy and drive as is. Pics very soon as I dont think below link is working.

1971 Type 3 Fasty - EJ20T

I love 242HP sleepers.

How many sets of lights does it take a $229k Carrera S to learn? UPDATE: Cayman S, M3, B4 now added to the list.
