Wow, some great stuff there.
Don't mean to hijack the thread, but, what is the general feeling about people replicating flash etc. with paint? Is it classified as a no no and naff? I reckon I could make it look ok.

This oval has had it taken off and kept in a safe place.
I also have the MV14 with alloy inserts.

nice score bugboy, until this post i had never seen that style before and i've been addicted to these things for over 10 years.

vw 54 i've seen a few late 50's early 60's holdens with additional trim. is that also made by the same firm?

That is great dave, I have the mv14a, I had obtained it off a mate....From what I have heard they used to anodise the corregated metal sections in different colours...my one is a faded gold colour...does anyone have a car with this trim not fitted to see where the best spots are to drill? cheers...zsolt...brisbane...

So, can anyone help me identify the trim on this beetle?

I haven't seen it anywhere else.....which is a shame, cos I only have one side! Any ideas?

they are both really georgous cars,

I have the m14 alloy insert trim on my 65 golde & the regular flash trim on the 60 bug,

would be nice to see some of the other styles on cars today.

a guy told me he threw his flash trim in the bin a few months back when he started doing up his beetle,:duh
he nearly cried when I told him how much they sell for !!
