just unplug your breather hose and run it to a old 5 litre oil bottle , like we use to do in the old days , once the bottle is half full , put the oil back in the motor :blush:

I know little about these :dork: other than that they ARE worth HP,
and that the pulleys are optimised to suit the required vacuum level.
Rodney has played with one, and Mike Nash has his working very well.

Your smoke is 'something wrong', and should not be masked by a vac pump.
But may be worth some measurable HP once all is sorted.

i know i should fix it ,but i just want to have alittle more fun before i take it of the road again.if i take it apart,i may as well put some good part's in there .hahahaha.
when the car has fresh oil in it,it doesnt smoke .when the oil get's a run or 2 in it,it's all over.
doesn't help when it's running so fat either.
when i gapped up the engine a few years ago(rings wise) i gapped them alittle bigger for the noz.which still hasn't been used anyway.this isn't all of the problem.
but just between you and me i think she's had a crack in the head for awhile.
so if a vac pump get's me alittle more racin out of the old girl.vac pump it is.

come on stock were are the pic's little buddy.
i am gona need the before pic's before i show what i've been doing.
i have add alittle extra material into the heads so i can go bigger with the ports.
the old auto craft's don't have as much meat as i thought.
i also took a picture of the 2 heads together so you could see how big the o44's were compared to the autocraft's.
i just don't know how to use these i-phones properly yet so you will have to wait for the update pic's.

Yeah those wider stud patterns they are for the 94 and 96.5 pistons,
you can use them on stock stud pattern cases though no probs.

You want new valves?

You can order here:
http://www.cvproducts.com/Categories/Engine/Valvetrain/

You would want at least titanium on the inlet I would think.

Autocraft heads came with valve length of 5.04"
with a .390" tip. 11/32 stem size.

We used to stray as much .100" longer than this
to fit more lift or better springs,
but if you stay at that 5.04" length,
you just need to make sure the retainer clears the rocker with a shorter tip height.
(shorter tip gives a higher installed height for more spring travel).

Longer valves will fit better springs and more lift,
but need the associated work on rocker shimming and support brackets at the end of the shaft.

This 5.04" length is .100" longer than stock small block chev,
but that tip is also much longer than chev too.
From memory it is a windsor valve, but in 5.04" length.

Head size will want to be less than 2" I would think on a 94 bore, but have seen 52s on 94 wich is very close/shrouded.

Fabre stocks manley, and Performance whole$ale stocks everything.

I should add that most Autocraft engines used .060" to .100" lash caps,
so if you order ti valves, get the longer ones with the steel tips and you will not have to worry about those damn lash caps.

http://www.cvproducts.com/Products.aspx?1=Engine&2=Valvetrain&Name=In... Valve&MFGID=XCE

Mine were 2.15" diameter and I cut them down to 2.1" for my application, and my length was correct.

You can cut these down for the head size you want,
or just custom order the heads size you need.

They have all the locks and retainers you may want as well in the first link I posted.
