That's great I love it. The best part is 1000cfm at an idle! and no loss of power driving the actual fan blade.

As a side note I think the Porsche fan kit is about 25cfs which is about 1500cfm, apparently this is to much and at high continuous revs, it drops the engine temp out of operating range.

These going to be for sale Westi? maybe type 4?

as per usuall everything needs to be custom fit,so the process of putting the engine together and then into the car is always slow, with alitle luck the teething problem's will be minor and it should be running tonight.
i still have heaps to go,although it looks complete ,so i can see that the end is near.
enjoy.

Hi

Great work.

I'm very lucky, I don't live far from Westys shop. I often pop in and this guys fabrication skills are amazing. He's done a little job on my intercooler so far and I plan on taking him more stuff in the future.

all throttle no bottle hey dave.just wanted to have a little extra something to keep me happy.
hey reub ,i watched all the vid's.took forever but they were all pretty cool.i think you need a different box in whitty.the ratio's seem a bit tall.

story so far
everything together friday night engines first start 10.30 pm,yipy:starhit:. engine stops 10.35 literally.
:(
1.00 am same night the engine is dissasembled to see problem.f--kin pulley.i always cheak the ali pulley's to make sure there is enough clearance, but for some stupid reason i didn't this time.
1.am engine has been cleaned(from shaving's)re-assembled and checked thrice and re started.:)
it sounds tuf as nails, can't wait for the first drive.
so far so good with the cooling ,i have had it running on and off for about 40minute trying to chase idle mixtures.it's getting to late and my head isn't working properly,so i will finsih jetting tommorrow.

cheer's for the input and comments over the thread so far.
i will try to take some footage of it's first trip ,and i will post up some more pic's as soon as i can.

Great post! I just finished reading it from start to finish.

The electric cooling fan is neat. I hope it works. It would give you more room for a super charger!

Is the compression ratio still 14:1?

Good luck with the first drive of the new donk. You should hose off the Pathfinder now (Pending more than one serviceable wheel nut on each wheel).

the threads a credit to you Westi and the work on the car and engine is something to behold.... really interested to see how it performs. Maybe when it's all done and dusted you could post a specification sheet with all the details of the car. Anyway, you've done an awesome job. Congrats :tu:

yeh i can do that,
it may need to be it's own post though,i started trying to explain all the mod's to shannon's (insurance).
he sayed that i would need to have a certain amount of mod's to qualify for insurance, and then asked me to start at the front of the car and work my way to the back.
he then asked me to stop and i was only getting to the dash as he only had so much room to write all the mods in.lol
