What would be the quickest N/a 1916cc 1/4 mile time in Aus ??

SO what is a quick time for a N/a 1916 beetle down the quarter ???

I would prefer to know times from street reg cars or at least cars that would be street registerable.................................Like a Dave Becker style of car!

And HP if you know !

Cheers

14.9 is my best so far but I can see it getting down to the 14.5 mark with the new gearbox.

What does your dunga do Craig?

I've never run the 1/4 only the 1/8th.....and that was 8.74

So is 13.2 that westi mentioned the best ?

It would also be interesting to know the specs of these engines, C/R's etc.

Is this with stock gears Craig?

The most power I know of from 1915(not 1916) is about 150 at the flywheel.
But the owner thinks Dragracing is "unrefined" so we will never know how fast it is.

I know of four sub 1915cc cars that have gone better than mid 12s,but are not street registered.
Could they drive on the street?
Yes.
Are they legal?
No...unless methanol or C14 is now legal.

With the current Off-the Shelf CNC heads that are now available,
high 12s in a car like Dave Becker's should be quite acheivable,
on radials and pump fuel.

150hp at flywheel= 120hp at the wheels ??

Dave that was in my hillclimb car with the hillclimb box...........ratio's were not stock, can't remember what they are.

So you think high 12's would be possible?

Without doing the maths I would say that 150fw would be about 130@wheels and in 800kg car with driver COULD run in the 12's @100mph.
MPH is directly related to HP and mass,
whereas ET is a combination of gears, traction and driver.

The dyno I went to had 14 percent reduction from FW to RW.

Dynos vary as do their correction factors.

That looks like some big pipes their Reub', can you put some verniers on the OD for me?

I did the maths at 800kg(1760lbs) and 150hp is 103mph.

From the dyno I went to it would be around 129hp at the tyres corrected.

Wow the theoretical time sounds good ......................just need to find out what REAL times have been done.

Is it possible to get a 69 1500 swinger down to 700kg, keeping it looking original/stock (No fibreglass etc) and street legal?
