WTB: Late Type3 KPH Speedo and possibly other parts and Steering wheel adaptor question

Hi guys,
I'm after a KPH speed like the MPH one in the photo. I do not have to have one with the Trip meter on it. I may also be in the market for a genuine tach to match. I am also looking for those headlight eyebrow things, louvred ones if possible. I am also seeking a boss kit for a SAAS 6 bold wood steering wheel. I have heard that the splines on the steering shaft are different between later Type3's and the beetle

I could be wrong but I belive that style of speedo was an Australian only version. As such I do not think there is a KPH version. Most of the KPH type 3 speedos of any description come from Germany.

The tachos are reasonably rare as they were also an Aus only special, but they do come up on Ebay occasionally.

bugger, well looks like it's back to trying to create a KPH face for it on the computer. A daunting task for someone who has very little skill

Any chance of a pic? I have that much to do on this car that I want to get the bits I do right the first time and one of the things is clean looking instruments.

I can confirm they did make a version in KPH with a trip meter.

Its not the same. The one the monk wants has a flat glass with the numbers printed on the inside of the glass. The one you have shown has the sunken face with the numbers printed on the face. It is basically the same as the earlier grey ones, except obvioulsy it is black. You will notice the box is in German.

Do you actually own that one or is it just a photo you found?

The glass is flat, and it does not have any facility to connect headlight inidcators.

I own it.

I think that one may have the chrome outer bezel. It's perhaps for the 70-71. I have the same style but in MPH and minus the trip meter. I am doing that set up to sell later. The gauges for the later models were made by VDO Australia.

PS: The later model has provision for headlights and indicators

LOL very big typo corrected Tach is ment to be speedo

I think I saw a tach go for $10 and would be willing to go as high as $30 :)
But hey anyone have pics of their speedo and how much (must be same style as the top pic)
And someone must know if the bug adaptor will work on a late Type3 so that I can fit my SAAS wheel

Does anyone know what the Tach already in my dash is from. I saw one advertised as a Kombi unit and it looked the same

I was directing it at Ferdinand. The late aussie type 3 tachos generally go for ~$100 on ebay.

That tacho would look great in a bay window speedo console.
