yep if you want a ball joint beam i have one sitting there allready made, but it has no adjusters welded to it, i am in the process of finding out
the best options for adjusters and waiting on prices for getting them manufactured.
i dont have ball joint drop spindles , a ball joint beam ready to bolt in with new ball joints, tie rod ends, pads, etc etc .. be looking around
$2000 to $2500 probably more towards $2500

so if i gave you the beam out of my bus[60 - 66], complete, you could give me a narrowed one with dropped spindles for $1400? i like. and do you know
why oz seems to prefer irs and ball joint while the us seem to go for straight axle and dropped spindle k&l?? i've already got the straight axle
rear, and an adjustable front, so i might do that to mine and see how it handles. i figure i can always go to ball joint and irs later on!![but i aminterested in narrowing!!!!]
cheers josh

you give me your beam and spindles and you can have a 4 inch narrowed beam with flipped king and link spindles for $1400 , i now have adjusters so add
$100 for those
yep the US do seem to go for straight axle and link pin, and out here we do tend to go for irs and ball joint, i think in the states they go straight
axle beacause its easier and marketed heavily , not saying straight axle is a bad thing but in my opinion if the bus isnt really low with straight
axle it gets really bad positive camber on the rear wheels that looks horible and handles like shit.
on the front end link pin can go lower than ball joints without causing negative effects as the rely on needle roller bearings and do not run out of
travel like a ball joint does.
bus owners in the past wanted to upgrade there suspension to ball joint as it is easier to work with when they wear ,also it gave the option to bolt
on disc brakes , in the states disc brakes dont seem to be that important, or if they are to some they have the options to buy wide 5 disc brake kits
to bolt onto there link pin beams ,so there is no need for them to go ball joint.
i would probably go for a link pin front end if i wanted a really narrowed slammed front end , but the negative side is the wide 5 disc set up
costing more than 2k alone in aus .
i have had straight axle fitted in my bus in the past ,the thing i didnt like was the positive camber on the rear wheels as my bus wasnt low enough
.
i now have irs and it handles so much better also i can adjust the camber on the rear wheels so it just works for me.
id be happy with irs out back and either ball joint or link pin up front but i do like discs and not spending crazy money to bolt them on. thats why
i am running ball joint
i guess people go for what the vw pros tell them is the best option i know thats how i have wasted alot of money in the past. i have found
researching asking questions on these forums especially bus forums is the best way to make a educated guess at whats best for me

awsome info, and i completely agree, i always wanted to straight axle rear and dropped spindle k&l front but info is scarce in oz so its good to hear
you comment! i think that i might end up going this way first and then at best , irs ing the rear and keeping the front as is[dropped spindle k&l]
loving the 4 " narrowed beam. to go this way with you, what else would i nee to do to fit the beam? assemble the brakes, add shocks and connect
steering arm or do i need more? i am counting my cash roll right now!! how much notice do i need to give to order one?
cheers josh
