drum/wheel temp

After a relatively easy cruise (at about 90kph) cruise back from Geeeeeelong to Melbourne in 30 degree heat today, i inserted a thermal couple into my hubcaps and the air temp in them were hovering just over 70 degrees! This was on all 4 hubcaps. Is this normal? I know the rear would get hot with the gearbox oil etc, but the fronts?
