My original VW issue wooden sports steering wheel and maybe the golden fleece service stickers i got.

This is my Volkswagen, there are many like it, but this one is mine. Without me my Volkswagen is useless, without my Volkswagen, I am useless.

I was talking to a guy in my (non VW) car club who's father was an apprentice for volkswagen in germany during the 50's. He said he had some VW books that I could have if I wanted. Not thinking it would be anything special I said yes, just to be polite. I now have his original type 1 reference manual in mint condition, complete with hand written notes. Cant read a word it says... but I like it. Also included was a gregorys manual printed in 1956 too. Despite its delapidated cover condition im pretty fond of it too, since it matched the car.

I'd say some photos of my dad in Germany in about '46 standing beside a VW with his driver when only the British were allowed to have use of them. At the time he was working for the British Control Commision/Foreign Office. I've also got a sales brochure for a Karmann Ghia that I picked up from a VW dealers in the Old Kent Road in London when you still buy them new (not that I could afford to buy one at the time).
