What should I do? Keep or sell?

This is the 3rd time in 3 years that I find myself in this position.

I never get to the dunes between work and family.
I can only race on saturdays in Motorkhanas and Khanacross.
If I keep it I want to change a bunch of stuff and that will require difficult negotiations with the missus.
To sell it I think I need to change some stuff anyway.
If I sell it then there'll be a big fight about what I am allowed to buy/race.

Should I keep or sell my buggy?

that's a tough one... guessing the missus aint into vdubs?
and if you are planning on replacing it with something to race with then why replace it?
you may as well keep what you have and keep using it the way you are.
just my 2c.

pete.
my opinion.
you are probably not going to get what you invested. and you are going to replace it with something else, potentially. you say you made need to change a few things to sell anyway. if your not 100%, you are better to keep it and jsut keep reinventing it until you are happy. after all its a hobby. expensive addictive hobby. i know i have started and finsihed a few different 'hobbies' and changed a few along hte way myself... not all with the appropriate approvals either... but htey work themselves out in the end.

good luck with your decision.

I know first hand that sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

I had to sell the ragtop and other cars + motorbike etc for financial reasons - if I didn't need to sell them for the money I would have hung onto them all.

So it really comes down to your own circumstance and how you look at it - perhaps an opportunity to do the "next" buggy differently (if you get another chance).

Good luck.

what are the chances of getting something that will need less work to suit your needs then what you already have?

mmm, not much really. And I am beginning to think it might be a case of "better the devil you know" too.

Damn, I hate being so indecisive.

negotiate with missus about buggy changes vs negotiate with missus about buying new toy.... keep seems easiest option.

seems like compromise and a few nights of taking out the missus for dinner is in order to help sway her decision

3 questions to ponder...

Is there much likelihood of getting the kind of cash you want if you sell your current buggy?
Building up a new motorkhana buggy would be fun, but are you likely to have the time to do it?
Is the missus generally sensible and wise in her advice, even if it is not what you want to hear?

I've voted for keeping it :thumb

well, the jury is back in and the sentence has been pronounced....

THE BUGGY IS STAYING!!!

thanx everyone for the support.

So now I'm hard at work fix everything I hate.

1. went to a moto shop today and got a new full face helmet for racing. :ninja:
2. off to the exhaust shop tomorrow morning to get some pipes bent up to mount the radiator on the front. with that will also come a new front bullbar.

lots of other things to be improved yet. stay tuned.

BTW, the next event I'm entering is a khanacross on MARCH 24th!

can't wait! :bounce
