48 IDA- Air filters
The engine is going in as we speak, and will be running twin 48ida's. I use the car on the street a little and also will run autocross (eg dirt and
dusty) my old k and n's weren't the best for dust. What are good filters for 48idas in dusty enviroments? I was going to run the 2 stage unifilters,
but they don't cover the mesh screen between the stacks? the other option is K&N's but iam not a big fan......
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!

K&N's work very well if they are sealed and oiled as designed.
May not fit in there with tall manifolds though.

why not custom make a box to house both filters and then run an airscoop out the decklid - have a variety of filters throughout the insides of the box
for differing stages of filtration?

There are the matched manifolds from the wedge ports.... are they the tall ones?
Custom box would be good....but time and money....

Hi
With the jet stacks, you can build a box over it and vent it through a fuel filter, pod filters work OK as long as theres no water around, but run
socks on them and clean the socks & pods lots.

use the k&n filters, but because you are using it in the dirt, buy some filter foam, i use 12mm i think, and make some outer socks to go over the
k&n's. that way you can oil them as well and will stop most dirt from getting to your k&n filters. make a couple of spare socks and you can change
them out during the day.
other way to do it which i had to do was put the filter/s inside the car

Thanks for the ideas.... at present its down between
1. K&N's with filters socks (already ran those on the 40 dells)
2. Make a seperat box etc for the jet stacks and vent seperately. and then use uni filter with extra sock for the velocity stacks....
mmmmm now jsut to get the car back from the machanics....

K&Ns work best when they're a bit dirty.

K&N Filters for IDA's are BIG and won't fit under a std decklid with tall manifolds.
If your using cnc ported manifolds for wedgeports from CB, then you have tall manifolds.
