Monroe GT-Gas Shockies - T1 Superbug rear.
Anyone used these shock absorbers (Monroe GT-Gas) on the rear of a T1 Superbug?
Any experiences or better options which I should consider?

yeah just a bit firmer than standard for a daily driver.. are you the feller with the saggy rear end? Fix that first

Yeah, that's me VWCOOL.
I'm getting some polyurethane grommets sorted at the moment and then looking to change the pedders touring shockies for some stiffer ones.

If it's just for crawling around Bondi, save the $100 on the PU bushes and install normal VW rubbery ones. You won't notice the difference

the urethane bushes are nearly solid...
they won't flex etc....
Gas pressurised shocks will put the rear end Up...
and probably fix your problem..
I prefer oil shocks for My beetle....
I found the gas shocks too hard for My liking...
on rough country roads....

yeah fair comment... mine were custom-made ones after all the usual colourful aftermarket VW shit didn't fit/work
In most conditions I can't tell the difference. Mine are a super-duper compound so don't transmit any extra noise yet don't distort. So it's only
when my tyres start to 'peel' that there is any difference... IYKWIM!

Got the rear end reset (torsion bars, and spring plates set to 21 degrees) and new poly grommets with existing shockies. What a difference to the
ride, handling and look, brilliant!
