Thanks mate.

I thought there wasn't too many orange buggies getting around, so that's why I went orange. I think it's working out ok.

I've finally fitted the dashboard and wired all of the gauges. Once I have tidied up the wiring I will bolt the instrument panel to the dashboard.

Here's a couple of pics....

I've been fitting up the windscreen. I'll bolt it up properly once I can get the seal at the bottom to sit properly. It's getting closer now although I took it for another quick test drive and the bloody thing pops out of first gear all the time. A decent IRS box and 1600 tp is now on my shopping list. Anyone know of any late superbugs being wrecked??

Anyway here's a couple of pics....

Nice colour choice mate - suits it really well. All you manx owners must be able to get your engines out in 5 minutes flat! Even with a removable rear apron, I get tired of sticking my arm behind the fan shroud and fiddling with the tight fit in a beetle engine bay!

Keep up the good work.

Thanks Anthiron, that would be good apart from it being on the other side of the country..

What I'll look for is a single side plate box over here if possible. I can afford to wait...

Yes Dasdubber, buggies are really easy for engine swaps. That motor (which I knew was knackered but didn't have another at the time) went in literally in five minutes. A mate grabbed one side of the exhaust, I grabbed the other side and we chucked it in. My mate balanced it while I got the four nuts done up finger tight. It's probably easier putting an engine in a buggy than changing the rear tyres.

It has a 3 inch body lift.

The tacho isn't waterproof, I'll have to minimise it's exposure to water otherwise I'll have to get another one off Ebay. I don't know why they bother making tacho's that go to 11000 rpm. There isn't many street vehicles that would ever get close to that. I did like the other gauges that are in the middle of the tach, that's why I bought it. I think that I will set the shift light to 4500rpm.

I got the same taco off ebay. You may want to set shift light a bit lower though as the gauges can be slightly slow on high performance engines. 4500rpm may light up closer to 5000rpm when under full pedal - they vary abit but are great value. :thumb

I'm on the lookout for a few bits for my Buggy. If you see these going cheap somewhere let me know;

VW engine rebuild kit (87mm barrels + pistons)
Aluminium IDF Weber Air Cleaners to suit VW
Centreline or BTR Wheels (15 x 7 rear, 15 x 4 front)
Tall skinny front tyres (MT Baja Pro's would be nice)
MT MTX rear tyres (31/10.5/15)
Heavy duty clutch to suit VW
KYB gas shocks for the front end

That will have to do for now. If some nice gauges come up on Ebay I might pick them up, it's not high on my priority list though.
