Monday.

My apologies to all those I didn't speak to on Sunday but, as you can see, I was on a mission.

What a bummer.

Glad you didnt have anything planned over the long weekend.

Lucky it didnt dent the apron where the guards bolt on.

It did bend the front, but the supers have a separate panel at the front, not the spare wheel tub the earlier beetles have.
I did have to deflate the spare to get it out. Slide hammer & sledge hammer got it back to a reasonable shape. Not pretty, but roadworthy.

The back; well you cant see the tow bar behind the bumper bar. I think that's deflected it away from the centre of the car. Both are bent but it's saved the apron & more importantly, the engine from being hit.

This is what happens when your confidence/skill ratio aint all it could be.

This is #1 son's effort 3 days after getting his licence.
Lost it on a wet corner & hit 2 parked cars while travelling in a circular direction. Front is laser, back is commodore.

Fortunately, as a mean & overbearing father, I wouldn't let him drive it without third party insurance.

Hasn't shaken him though. This is his car Sunday arvo when he asked if he could take the wife's 626 to go & see his squeeze.

Little bludger's got balls. I'll give him that.

damn, poor bug, thought it must have been a bug sandwitch, sad to see but i couldnt help but smile at your above description, lucky the parked cars were spaced right or you would have had some serious damage to cleanup around the door and B-pillar, havign said that though, if the cars were further apart would he have had the worlds luckiest escape and cleared them both?

I dunno.

I think the parked cars have provided a "soft" landing.

If you hit the gutter dead straight, front or back, you may get away with it with nothing more than a couple of buckled rims. Hit it sideways, chances are you'll damage the suspension both ends with the very real risk of rolling.

Not to mention parked cars are softer than trees or power poles if you do manage to climb the gutter.

Looks like one of my cars now. Dints & primer :P

Physically, no damage done. The ego copped a hell of a bruising though.

Like I said, didn't stop him asking for the keys to his mother's car Sunday.

I did see you Sunday Dave, but you looked busier than me so I left you be.

Don't sweat it.

Cars can be fixed & savings accounts can be replenished.
